 Opened
in 1965 and officially designated in 1977 as the Borough of SNPJ, Pa.,
the SNPJ Recreation Center is the Slovene National Benefit Society's premier
family vacation spot, offering activities for members and guests of all
ages. SNPJ plans a full summer schedule of various activities and events
with something for everyone.
Designed with the family in mind, the 500-acre SNPJ Recreation Center offers affordable accommodations, including a trailer court and camping area with 60 rustic cabins overlooking a 20-acre lake. This restful retreat appeals to everyone seeking a weekend away or an extended vacation. Children and other active family members will enjoy two swimming pools and a sheltered balina court, basketball, volleyball, tennis and a playground. SNPJ is committed to providing an enjoyable experience for all who visit the Recreation Center. Polka dances featuring music by the area's top bands provide fun each weekend. Other activities, such as bingo, holiday events and special presentations, keep crowds coming back year after year. The Recreation Center's full-service dining facility provides home-cooked meals, and the newly completed Alpine Wedding & Banquet Room is available for special-occasion rentals. The Recreation Center also has rental facilities available for conferences, banquets and other social gatherings.
